Follow the adventures of our research staff and the orangutans of Gunung Palung National Park with our research blog, written by one of our research volunteers, Robert Suro Rodriguez!

Robert Suro RodriguezRobert is working with our team at the Cabang Panti research station inside Gunung Palung National Park over the next year (July 2013-July 2014). Robert is a former undergraduate student of our Executive Director, Dr. Cheryl Knott, who is also a professor at Boston University. With experience in primate field research in Ecuador, Robert makes an excellent addition to our research team in Indonesia. He will be assisting with orangutan behavioral follows and ecological research, and will also be documenting his time with the project through numerous communication venues such as this research blog, as well as Facebook and Twitter updates. With Robert”s adventurous spirit, sharp intellect and team-oriented outlook we could not be more pleased to have him join our project!

We are very excited to be able to directly share our work with you, and hope you enjoy this blog! Please share with others who may also be interested in our efforts to better understand orangutan behavior and ecology and to protect these magnificent animals and their rainforest habitat.
