To celebrate World Orangutan Day later this month (August 19th) we at GPOP are holding an orangutan drawing contest! We”re so excited to see your art, so grab your crayons, markers and colored pencils and get creative! All submissions will be featured on GPOCP social media and the top 3 from each age group will be turned into a coloring sheet and distributed to Indonesian schoolchildren as part of our conservation education work.
Here are the rules:
THEME: Orangutans and their jungle habitat
DATES: August 1 – 30, 2014
AGES: All ages welcome! Age divisions for judging are: 7 & under, 8-12, 13-16, 16 & up
GRAND PRIZE: One signed photo from international Wildlife Photojournalist Tim Laman will be given to the best overall drawing. Pictures will be judged on creativity and conservation message as well as ability, so all entrants have a chance to win!
HOW TO SUBMIT: Scan and email to savegporangutans@gmail.com. Include your or your child’s name, age, state/province and country, plus a sentence describing why you believe it is important to conserve wild orangutans and their rainforest habitat!
